UNVEST and Participant shall be hereinafter collectively referred to as “Parties”, and individually as a “Party”.
SUBJECT MATTER OF THE AGREEMENT
ARTICLE 2.
Herein this “Terms and Conditions of Use Agreement” (hereinafter referred to as “Agreement”) the context of the “Academic English Program for Researchers 2021” (hereinafter referred to as “Program”) via the https://apdd.ku.edu.tr/en/academic-english-program-for-researchers/ (hereinafter referred to as “Web Site”) between UNVEST and Participant, the web site registration and payment transactions regarding the implementation of the parties’ rights and obligations are regulated by Law No 6502 and in accordance with relevant regulations.
SPECIAL PROVISIONS
ARTICLE 3.
3.1. Essential Feature of the Service Agreement
UNVEST will provide to Participant which the Participant accepts and declares that in accordance with Turkish Civil Code will join “Academic English Program for Researchers 2021” which will be held on online. The scope of the Academic English Program for Researchers 2021 includes training for writing research articles, citation, organizing speech, teaching effectively in English, using today’s widely used education technologies, enhancing the abilities to give presentations in English.
3.2. The Content and Price of the Program Under the Agreement
3.2.1. The content of the Program under this Agreement that Participant will attend are as follows;

3.3. Participant’s Right of Withdrawal and Use of Right of Withdrawal
3.3.1. Right of Withdrawal
Participant has the right of withdrawal from the Agreement in 14 (fourteen) days without showing any reasons or paying penalty. As the Agreement is about performing a service, the participant’s right of withdrawal period commences on the day which the Agreement is established.
The contract is established by the Participant’s pre-registration by clicking on the “Apply” option on the website and completing the form on the page and later when the Participant receives written notification that the application is accepted as a result of the file evaluation made by the program team, the payment link is sent from the system and the process is finalized following the payment of the fee. Participant’s withdrawal period starts on the date of payment. The Participant agrees that he/she may receive only 50% (fifty percent) of the program fee as refund, when the cancellation request is made 15 (fifteen) days before the start of the program that he/she applied to for reasons other than force majeure. In addition, once the program has started, no refunds will be made in case of leaving the program early due to a reason other than force majeure.
3.3.2. The Exercise of Right of Withdrawal
GENERAL PROVISION
ARTICLE 4.

4.2. Participants applying to the program must have completed a graduate level program in Türkiye or abroad or must be registered in a master/doctorate program.
4.3. The language of the program is English, and the participants shall communicate with the instructors in English during the lectures.
4.4. Participants attending the program are be subject to the same terms and conditions as Koç University students. The mentioned rules are “Classroom Code of Conduct”, “Student Code of Conduct”, “YÖK Student Disciplinary Regulations” and “Statement of Koç University on Academic Integrity and Plagiarism”. The Participant accepts that the participant is obliged to comply with these rules and if he / she does not comply with the rules, he / she may be dismissed from the program.
FORCE MAJEURE
ARTICLE 5.
The cases that happen without the control of the Parties such as natural disasters, wars, mobilization, fire, health status changes, strikes and lockouts and the government, contagious diseases or legal decisions that stop the working conditions of both or one of the parties partially or completely, temporarily or permanently shall be considered as Force Majeure to the extent that they affect the execution of the provisions of the Contract hereby.
Parties shall notify the other party in writing about the occurrence of Force Majeure promptly and submit the related formal documents. In the event that Force Majeure lasts longer than two (2) months, the Parties shall be entitled to suspend this Contract until the event of Force Majeure disappears or terminate the Contract by mutual agreement.
CONFIDENTIALITY
ARTICLE 6.
UNVEST will not share Participant’s any personal information with third parties without written permission. Correspondingly, Participant will not share the agreement proposal with third parties which is proposed by UNVEST to her/him.
STORAGE OF AGREEMENT AND ACCESS
ARTICLE 7.
Agreement shall be kept for 3 (three) years by UNVEST. Upon the Participant’s request, text of the agreement will be sent to address referred to at Article no. 1 above.
SIGNATURE
ARTICLE 8.
This Agreement consists of 8 (eight) main articles and will into force when the payment link is transmitted to Participant by UNVEST, after approval of Participant via the web site.
