MKTG 665 / STRATEGY SEMINAR IN MARKETING

This is a doctoral seminar course focusing on behavioral foundations of marketing strategy research. Since marketing strategy is inherently interdisciplinary, the course acquaints students with theories emanating from economics, sociology, psychology, strategy, the organizational sciences, as well as marketing. Students will be introduced to a variety of research designs and techniques for doing marketing strategy research. We will examine research involving experiments, quasi-experiments, surveys, qualitative data, and secondary data. Some of the topics covered include: marketing capabilities and resources, financial returns to marketing strategies, market knowledge and learning, marketing and innovation, marketing networks. The goal is that students finish the course with a deep understanding of the literature as well as how they might contribute to it. Students write a research paper on a topic of interest.

Multidisciplinary approach to the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal disorders. The students will have theoretical and practical training in the emergency departments, outpatient clinics, operating rooms and inpatient sections of the hospital dedicated to Orthopedics, Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation, Rheumatology, Hand Surgery, Spine, Radiology and Algology. The program will include basic science topics related to clinical medicine; lectures, seminars, panels, clinical presentations, examination of laboratory tests, evaluation of pathologic findings and diagnostic imaging studies and related topics. The topics will cover musculoskeletal traumas, degenerative and metabolic diseases, developmental abnormalities of musculoskeletal system, sports medicine, infectious diseases of bone and joints, tumors of bones, cartilage and soft tissues, rheumatologic diseases, and pain management in musculoskeletal system.

NRVS 504 / DISEASES OF NERVOUS SYSTEM AND PSYCHIATRY

Multidisciplinary approach to diseases of the nervous system and psychiatric disorders. Review of physiology, pathology and pharmacology as related to nervous system. Principles of diagnosis and treatment of common psychiatric and nervous diseases. Infections, trauma, vascular, degenerative diseases and tumors of the nervous system. Management of adult and pediatric patients in the emergency setting, outpatient and inpatient clinics and intensive care units. Surgical approaches to the nervous system diseases. The students will participate in the proceedings of the Departments of Adult and Pediatric Neurology, Adult and Pediatric Psychiatry, Neurosurgery, Emergency Departments, Critical Care, Algology etc. The program will include lectures, panels, symposia, clinical presentations, laboratory, pathologic and imaging demonstrations etc.

OBGY 600 / OBSTETRICS AND GYNECOLOGY

Interns in Obstetrics and Gynecology are expected to fulfill a four-week program rotating through specialties in the Department. Two weeks are spent as part of the labor and delivery team; following-up laboring and antepartum patients, assisting in deliveries and C-sections, seeing patients in the outpatient Obstetrics clinics. Interns will spend two weeks as part of the Gynecology service. During this period, they are expected to actively take part in the care of in-patients, assist in the operating room, consult emergency patients and work in the Outpatient Clinic. (4 weeks; compulsory on-call nights and weekends)
