Texts to include pieces by Plautus, Catullus, Cicero, Horace and selected Mediaeval pieces, illustrating aspects of history, mythology and social life and the periods and genres of Latin Literature. Continuing concentration on building fluency and vocabulary acquisition. Special focus on introducing problems of textual transmission, basic translation skills and the techniques of commentary.
