This course aims to enable school of medicine students to develop effective and appropriate patient-centered consultation, learn ethical principles, develop professionalism and physical examination skills that are necessary for good clinical practice with learning sessions in small groups and short role-plays with both the instructor/s and their peers. The course covers training on clinical skills in the skils laboratory located at the main campus and the Koc University Hospital.

The aims of this course are to introduce the cultural and social issues which are significant in the making of modern Türkiye. The course will cover the period from the early nineteenth century with specific emphasis on the cultural and social transformations in major moments and turning points. To give an overview of the history of Türkiye, the first weeks of the lecture will cover the leading issues in the history of the Ottoman Empire and Turkish Republic. Then, the course will proceed with selected topics that are important in understanding the Turkish society.

Multidisciplinary approach to the diagnosis of gastrointestinal diseases: Mechanisms of diseases, pathologic findings, clinical presentations, laboratory tests, diagnostic imaging and treatment. Topics include, esophageal diseases, gastritis, peptic ulcer, malabsorption, infectious enterocolitis, inflammatory bowel disease, tumors of the esophagus, stomach, small intestine and colon, jaundice, viral hepatitis, steatohepatitis, metabolic liver diseases, diseases of gall bladder and biliary tract, tumors of liver and biliary tract, pancreatitis and tumors of pancreas.
