In this course the student will examine the evolution of the concept of quality, the process of quality management, standardization of quality i.e. ISO and JCHO accreditation systems, participatory management approach, the concept of total quality management (TQM), the importance, basic principles, organizational structure, process; quality circle, quality management in nursing services and education, concepts related to change (power, authority, impact, authority), types and factors affecting change, needs assessment for change, change process, the role of a change agent, strategies of change, and the process of change in nursing management.

Symptoms, aetiology and epidemiology of mental disorders, types of treatment for mental illness, nursing care process for patients with mental illness.

The aim of this course is to improve the students' leadership and management skills related to the implementation of the data collection, planning, organization, directing and control phases of the management process.

In this course, it is aimed for the student to learn concepts, theories, principles and methods that are the basis of fundamental topics within the scope of the Course of Fundamentals of Nursing extensively and to develop the skill of using education methods. Within the scope of the course, curriculum of the course of Fundamentals of Nursing, determination of the weights of the topics and the period of the courses, selection of the methods of education according to the properties of the topics, preparation of unit plan and teaching plan, and the sample lesson presentation are focused on.

In this course, it is aimed for the student to develop the skill to use the knowledge that he/she achieves during the courses of Fundamentals of Nursing I and II, during the education and evaluation of the students taking the course of Fundamentals of Nursing. Within the scope of the course the student is expected to participate in laboratory practice with the lecturer along with other student who are participating in the Clinical Practice for the first time and achieve the skill of evaluation associated with the laboratory and the clinical practice.

The aim of this course is having the student learn the developments related to the applications of nursing and developments in the field of health sciences. Within the scope of the course, nursing practices and current subjects regarding the field of health sciences are discussed.

This course provides a broad introduction to child abuse together with child neglect. In addition, the roles of families in child abuse and neglect will be covered along with active discussions on these topics. Other topics include discussions of investigations, reporting and treatment; as well as the nurses’ role in prevention and care of child abuse and neglect. Finally, students will be required to write projects on the overall knowledge gained on prevention of child abuse and neglect.

The student will examine health policy and gain the cognitive and economic knowledge and skills in order to have an impact on health policy as a health professional, and to develop institutional and country-level policy.

In this course the students will assess the status of child workers, children living in the street, abused children, disabled children, delinquent children, and chronically-ill children.

In this course, it is aimed for the student to provide care by using his/her evidence based knowledge, skills and attitudes in respect to solve the problems of healthcare, and to protect and promote the health of individuals, families and population. Within the scope of the course, the student is expected to provide healthcare based on holistic care model and use nursing process system in the practice sites determined according to the interest of the student (hospital, family health center, home care unit/center, etc.) and to practice the methods and techniques related to care and evidence based practices.

In this course, topics of models and theories, knowing and knowledge: importance for nursing, theory development process, the basis of models, evaluation of models, common characteristics of nursing models, selecting a suitable theory, use of models in education, research and nursing care and selected nursing care models are included.
