These seminar series aim to bring together the intersection of health and social sciences in the first year medical students – including those who are enrolled in ELC. The main objective o these seminars is to raise awareness about the experiences and various case studies from the perspectives of different disciplines about health, disease and medical practices. Thus increase the level of knowledge of the students, and to enable them to define the role of social and cultural determinants of health at the individual and societal level in the practice of medicine. Each seminar will last for 1 hour and requires the attendance of the students. Students will be assessed as “satisfactory or unsatisfactory” based on their attendance records.
