This is a doctoral seminar course focusing on mathematical modeling. This course acquaints students with the state of the art in analytical marketing models. The focus is on managerial models of advertising allocations, channel design, sales force allocations, sales promotion, pricing, product design, test markets, and competitive positioning. The readings are mainly drawn from leading marketing, operation management and economic journals. The goal of this course is to expose students to some of the key models and substantive issues in analytical modeling and help them build strong analytical modeling skills. Students develop their own models and papers on a topic of interest.

Aim of this course to discuss the basic neurophysiological and neuro-pathological processes in detail. The first part of the course will include basic neuro-pathophysiological mechanisms like calcium cytotoxicity, free radicals and free radical damage, protein aggregation disorders leading to neurodegeneration, apoptosis, and necrosis. Students have assignment for making a presentation regarding one of the pathophysiological mechanism. At the second part of the course pathophysiological processes leading to neuro psychiatric disorders like epilepsy, headache and pain, psychosis, anxiety disorders, subarachnoid hemorrhage and trauma will be discussed in detail. Before fina examination, student have to present a journal paper regarding disease mechanisms learned.

Interns in Obstetrics and Gynecology are expected to fulfill a four-week program rotating through specialties in the Department. Two weeks are spent as part of the labor and delivery team; following-up laboring and antepartum patients, assisting in deliveries and C-sections, seeing patients in the outpatient Obstetrics clinics. Interns will spend two weeks as part of the Gynecology service. During this period, they are expected to actively take part in the care of in-patients, assist in the operating room, consult emergency patients and work in the Outpatient Clinic. (4 weeks; compulsory on-call nights and weekends)
